About
We’ve found links to the best anatomy resources on the Internet, categorized them, reviewed them, and put them in one place for you—ThinkAnatomy.
Not everyone can get their study needs met through lecture, lab, and a textbook. You probably find yourself searching for other study aids. But, we also know how frustrating it can be to search the Internet for good resources, and let’s be honest, there’s a lot of bad information out there.
That’s why we personally review each site, tell you who the authors are, and even lay out the pros and cons. We look for things like clarity of information, clear illustrations, intuitive navigation, and good information design.
We even give you a screenshot of each site. That way you can visually scan multiple links and pick a site that works for your study needs.
Anatomy may be one of the hardest classes you will ever take—finding good study aids online shouldn’t have to be as hard.
Who’s behind ThinkAnatomy?
ThinkAnatomy is the creation of Vanessa Ruiz, art director, medical illustrator, blogger, and all out anatomy fanatic.
Vanessa took gross human anatomy as part of her Master’s in Biomedical Visualization at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She quickly found that using a variety of anatomy study aids, especially those on the Internet, was the best way to learn anatomy. She also noticed that she wasn’t the only one watching dissection videos during lunch—most of the students in her anatomy class were also using online resources to help them study.
Unfortunately, it took time to search and put together a list of valuable online anatomy resources. That’s where the inspiration to make ThinkAnatomy started. Vanessa wanted to make a site that anatomy students could use to find study aids without having to use a major search engine like Google and then have to sift through the millions of results.
And so ThinkAnatomy developed into an online directory specifically for links to anatomy resource sites targeted to students taking anatomy classes. We hope you find this site useful and also hope that you can participate by simply rating a site or writing a review of any of the many anatomy sites listed. A big thank you in advance.
Vanessa is also the author of StreetAnatomy the popular blog on medicine, art, and design. Feel free to contact her at vanessa@thinkanatomy.com.
